Minibus ride from Georgetown to Parika
Transfer from Parika Big Kiss Wharf to Fort Kyk-Over-AI by boat.
The journey begins early in the morning as you meet your guide at 6:45 AM in front of Qik Serv (Main & Quamina Streets, Georgetown). By 6:55 AM, you’ll head out by minibus, crossing the Demerara River and traveling to Parika. From there, you’ll board a comfortable speedboat and cruise for about 1 hour and 20 minutes up the scenic Mazaruni River. Your first stop is Fort Kyk-Over-Al, a historic Dutch fort located on a tiny island at the confluence of the Essequibo, Cuyuni, and Mazaruni rivers. After a brief exploration, you'll continue upriver to the rainforest trailhead, where a short hike takes you to Marshall Falls. Here, you can enjoy a refreshing swim under the cascading water, take photos, and relax in the natural surroundings.
After hiking and swimming at Marshall falls, you'll board the boat again to continue to Aruwai Resort for lunch and some poolside relaxation.
Next, the boat takes you to Aruwai Resort, a peaceful riverside retreat. You’ll enjoy a pre-ordered lunch and beverage, then have free time to swim in the pool, relax on the grounds, or enjoy the scenic riverside views.
